Hi Linda!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
When visiting Walt Disney World Resort, you'll have an opportunity to visit four amazing theme parks, two water parks, and Disney Springs - an amazing shopping/dining/entertainment complex. Knowing the
easiest and best ways to travel between these locations is helpful when planning a Walt Disney World vacation.
The easiest way to travel between
Epcot and
Disney's Hollywood Studios is by taking a Friendship Boat from park to park. The Friendship Boat launch is located at Epcot's International Gateway, right outside the World Showcase section of the park. There is no cost for this boat ride, and you won't need to schedule anything in advance. Friendship boats typically leave from the launch area about every fifteen minutes, and when leaving Epcot, will make short stops at Disney's Yacht/Beach Club Resort, Disney's Swan/Dolphin Resort, and Disney's Boardwalk Resort during the short voyage to the front gate of Disney's Hollywood Studios.
You can also travel between the two theme parks on foot, by way of a walking path along Crescent Lake. I just had a conversation yesterday with my friend and fellow Disney fanatic, Jason, about how his family always chooses to walk between the two parks. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from park to park, and there's usually a nice breeze coming off the lake.
To visit both parks in one day, Guests will need to have valid theme park tickets with the Park Hopper option.
I hope this helps with your planning. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
