Hi David!
One of the nice things about staying at
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is that you have convenient access to
water transportation. However, you’ll find that the Walt Disney World Resort property is very large and there are several different water transportation systems. You can travel by boat from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, and Disney Springs, but unfortunately, you won’t be able to travel by boat from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter to
EPCOT or
Disney's BoardWalk because those waterways don't connect.
You can travel by boat between the Disney Resort hotels along Disney’s BoardWalk, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Likewise, there is also boat transportation between the Disney Resort hotels on Seven Seas Lagoon, the Disney Resort hotels on Bay Lake, and Magic Kingdom.
If you would like to travel from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter to EPCOT, your best bet is to use
complementary bus transportation. You can also take advantage of the
Minnie Van Service, which is a great way to get direct, private transportation throughout Walt Disney World Resort. There’s no direct transportation from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter to Disney's BoardWalk, but that's a great time to use a Minnie Van to travel to any of the hotels along Disney's BoardWalk.
I recommend that you download the
My Disney Experience mobile app because it has amazing interactive maps of Walt Disney World Resort. It also has turn-by-turn navigation features, so you can search for directions between different locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort and you can view results using the full variety of transportation options.
Feel free to come back to see us if you have additional questions about navigating during your vacation or if we can help you again as you continue planning your trip. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
