Hi Melanie,
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with a transportation question. There are so many ways to travel around Walt Disney World Resort from the Disney Skyliner or Monorail to a boat to a bus - there are choices to be made!
Guests staying at the
Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort have a few transportation options. Buses depart from two areas: the Settlement and the Outpost. When you’re at the Settlement, you’ll notice the docks near
Hoop- Dee-Doo Musical Revue - this is where you can head to hop aboard a boat to Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Two boat routes depart from the docks: the Green-flag boat route and the blue-flag route. The Green-flag route will take you directly to Magic Kingdom and usually from early morning until around an hour after the park closes. The blue-flag route is the local loop, transporting guests to
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Keep an eye out for the flag - you’ll want to make sure you are headed to the correct side of the pier. It’s also important to check schedules as the boat schedules are subject to change in the event of poor weather.
My family stayed at the
Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort this summer, and it was so nice to hop aboard a boat to Magic Kingdom. We loved how quick and easy the boat ride made our mornings, and I hope it adds the same convenience to your stay. If you have any other questions as you get ready for your vacation, feel free to revisit us at planDisney. We’re always happy to help.
Adventure is out there,
Candace
