How can I take a boat to get from the contemporary resort to the Wilderness lodge riding stable before 9;30 am on Monday, and return about 11 am? Monorail to magic kingdom and red flag (green flag?) to wilderness lodge? Is there a schedule?

Hey Howdy Hey, Nancy! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with such a great planning question.

It sounds like you have the most magical day planned at the Most Magical Place on Earth! Starting the day in the serenity of nature at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort sounds like the perfect, peaceful way to start your pixie-dusted day. Now, let's chat about getting you there!

First, let's make sure you head to the right Resort. Tri-Circle-D Ranch, where the Disney horse stables are located, is at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, which is commonly confused with Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The boat launches from Magic Kingdom are near each other, as well, so just make sure you are headed to the right place.

You can take a boat from the Contemporary to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge on the Blue Launch, however, when I stayed at the Contemporary in November, this line did not start running until 3:00 p.m. The schedules are subject to change, so I suggest asking a Cast Member when that line will start running the day before your wilderness adventure.

If the Blue Launch does not start running until the afternoon, I suggest walking or taking the monorail from the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom and then hopping the Green Launch over to Fort Wilderness. Again, you will see signs to catch a different boat to Wilderness Lodge, so just be sure to choose the correct Resort launch. These boats usually begin running from the Resort about 30 minutes before Magic Kingdom opens, but typically, that is when the monorail will start running, as well. I recommend checking with a Cast Member when the monorail will start running to be sure you can catch a boat in time. If it's cutting it close, I recommend leaving early and taking the ten-minute walk to Magic Kingdom to catch the boat.

Then, once you're done exploring the wilderness and visiting with the beautiful Disney horses, hop the Green Launch from Fort Wilderness back to Magic Kingdom to either walk or take the monorail back to the Contemporary. If you have any questions about transportation schedules, I find that the Cast Members are always super helpful, so feel free to ask. Happy trails to you, Nancy!

I hope this helps, Nancy, and I hope you have the best. day. EVER! Please feel free to stop by any time with any planning questions you may have.
