Hi Kathryn,
Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. We on the panel love helping guests to plan magical vacations!
Disney's BoardWalk is one of my favorite areas at Walt Disney World. There is so much to do at this area! You are correct that there is a hotel, Disney's BoardWalk Inn, as well as the Disney Vacation Club property Disney's BoardWalk Villas. Along with these hotels, there is lots of dining, entertainment and shopping at this area. For dining, you could enjoy a signature meal at Flying Fish, grab a casual burger at Big River Grille & Brewing Works, or have some scrumptious ice cream at Ample Hills Creamery. I have found that a nightcap at AbracadaBar, a magically themed cocktail lounge, is a wonderful way to cap off an evening at Disney's BoardWalk. There is some shopping, including Thimbles & Threads for higher end Disney clothing. There is a myriad of entertainment and recreation options on Disney's BoardWalk. From dueling pianos at
Jellyrolls to renting a surrey bike for a ride along the BoardWalk, you will find entertainment for everyone at Disney's BoardWalk!
In addition, Disney's BoardWalk sits along the shore of Crescent Lake. Walking around this lake, you can also quickly access Disney's Beach and Yacht Club Resorts, as well as the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels, for even more dining, shopping and entertainment. Disney's BoardWalk is also a quick walk away from Epcot, which can also be accessed by boat. A slightly longer walk or boat ride will take you to Disney's Hollywood Studios.
I definitely think that it is worth your time to spend an afternoon or evening at Disney's BoardWalk, Kathryn. I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you. Please do let us know if you have any further questions!
