We will be boarding the Wish on January 16, 2023. Our youngest granddaughter is 10, but will turn 11 at the end of January, 2023. Will she be able to go into Edge being she is that close to age 11?

Ahoy there, Vera! Welcome back to the planDisney panel! My pals and I are so glad to see you again.

You will be kicking off the new year in a most exciting way! How wonderful to be sharing time on the Disney Wish with loved ones. I can't wait for you to be welcomed aboard for a sailing that is a wish come true. With spaces to delight cruisers of every age, your voyage will be a hit with everyone in your group.

That includes your granddaughter! She'll be able to slide down into her own adventure in Disney's Oceaneer Club, where she can take care of creatures from a galaxy far far away, find her inner superhero, and even step into the shoes of an Imagineer! The best news is that she can also head to Edge, the coolest hangout spot for tweens. As she is so close to age 11, she can take part in the activities there as long as a traveling guardian signs a consent form allowing her to participate. On the first day of your sailing, I recommend visiting the Open House so you can check out the space, speak with a Crew Member and indicate that you would like to sign a consent form. When I did the same with my son when he was 10, they had his name on a list and were just waiting for us to stop by! Don't worry if you miss the Open House as you will still be able to get her signed in, the adults in your party just won't be allowed to linger and play. Open Houses are scheduled for all of the youth spaces throughout your voyage, so keep an eye on the activity schedule in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app

One thing to note is that there is not a formal check-in or check-out process for kids visiting Edge. My son doesn't have a cell phone to use the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to message us, so we found that the best way to find out where he was on the ship was to ask him to have the Crew Members in either of the Youth Clubs to send us a message within the chat feature of the app. I hope that helps you as you keep track of your grandchildren. Sometimes you just need to gather the family together for a mid-day ice cream break!

I wish you the best cruise ever! One last recommendation... don't miss Disney Seas the Adventure on the first night of your sailing in the Walt Disney Theatre. The broadway-style musical is SO good. It was a hit for my entire crew and I hope you enjoy it too.

Please cruise our way again if you have any further questions. We'll be here for you!

You've got a friend in me,

    Adrianna
