Welcome back to planDisney, Kristin!
What’s better than helping Peter Quill, Gamora, Groot, Rocket, and Drax save the galaxy? Doing it more than once! Jokes aside, you are in for a thrilling time on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. It’s my favorite attraction at Walt Disney World Resort, and I love having more than one way to ride it while on vacation.
As you mentioned, you can absolutely log in to your
My Disney Experience App at either 7 a.m. EST (from anywhere) or at 1 p.m. EST (from inside of EPCOT) to get a
Virtual Queue boarding group to ride this attraction. You can do one of those two options only once per day. However, although there is a complimentary Virtual Queue system but no standby queue, there are other options to ride more than once in one day.
I have good news for you, Kristin: If you’re staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort or Disney Deluxe Villa Resort and it is an
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours night at EPCOT, you have an additional chance to ride
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. You can grab a boarding group at 6 p.m. EST in the My Disney Experience from anywhere. I love that I don’t have to be inside the theme park to take advantage of this perk. And yes, you absolutely can get one even if you experienced the attraction earlier in the day. Another way to ride it more than once is to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane (in the near future known as a Lightning Lane Single Pass) for it as early as 7 a.m. EST. This will allow you to take the Lightning Lane to get to the ride vehicle even faster.
AN EXTRA GEM: The same goes for
TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom Park. So, if you also want to enter the Grid, you could take the same plan of action for a night that Magic Kingdom Park has Extended Evening Hours.
I hope that you have a blast on your vacation, Kristin. Get ready to save the galaxy—again and again! If you have more questions, just
give us a holler here at planDisney. Any one of the panelists will be more than happy to help you on your vacation planning journey.
Magic always,
LeAndra
