Ahoy, Kim!
I'm so excited to hear you'll be enjoying one of Disney Cruise Line's
Halloween on the High Seas Cruises. They've got lots of spooky fun planned for these special holiday sailings!!
When we cruise, we typically travel with a hanging garment bag, as we usually bring a suit and a dress for dining at Palo or Remy. We keep it with us as a carry-on if we fly, then check it with the porters curbside once we reach the port. Guests are allowed two checked pieces of luggage and a carry on. Carry-on bags should be the same size as what is allowed for an airplane flight, as they will be scanned in an x-ray machine before entering the port. (Typical size is 22 inches wide, 14 inches high and 9 inches deep).
Remember, if you choose to keep your garment bag with you, you will not be able to get into your stateroom until mid-afternoon once you board the ship. It is a lot easier to get around, eat, etc., without carrying a bulky bag around with you. The good news is, most luggage is delivered by 5:00pm, giving you plenty of time to change before dinner! If you'd like to guarantee your costumes will be available earlier than 5, you will probably want to keep them with you.
I'm sure you're having a blast planning costumes for your Halloween cruise. I hope this information helps with your packing and planning!
Have a most magical day, and Boo to You!! - Diane W.
