Hi there, Haley! Welcome back to planDisney!
I’m honored to welcome back a fellow Michigander! As much as I love our Great Lakes, I also love getting away from them for a bit in the wintertime by sailing on a Disney cruise. The
Disney Treasure was also my winter escape just a few months ago (we had a brutal winter, right?!)! I would be happy to share more about the hotel and transportation options that are available for your own winter Disney cruise getaway!
Two hotel options will allow you to take the
Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation to
Port Canaveral. Both are in Orlando, and are the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels and the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport.
There is a third hotel option that works with Disney Cruise Line, which is the Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach. However, their transportation to the port is not through Disney Cruise Line and must be booked through them, which you can do by calling (321) 799-0003.
I’ve stayed at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport a few times before a Disney cruise. Like you, I especially loved it when my kids were very young, and I didn’t want to worry about transporting them and all their gear around, except to Port Canaveral. What’s great about it is that the hotel AND the Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation pickup location are both right in the airport, making it a super convenient option.
Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation really is my favorite way to get to my cruise, because it's the easiest way. On the morning of embarkation day, you’ll head to the Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation area, where Disney Cruise Line will pick you up and drive you to Port Canaveral. Even your luggage is picked up right from your hotel room that morning using the luggage tags that are mailed to you before your cruise! Easy Peasy!
As for when to arrive for your cruise, I always recommend flying in at least the night before, especially if you’re taking Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation, to ensure that you get to your cruise on time.
You can make Ground Transportation reservations by either
calling Disney Cruise Line or online, either on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App or the Disney Cruise Line website. Open your reservation and click “Next Steps”, followed by “Ground Transportation”. However, if you booked your cruise with a travel agent, they will have to make the Ground Transportation reservation for you. Making pre-cruise hotel reservations is also super easy, as you can call Disney Cruise Line to make them.
Haley, I hope that I helped get you one hotel stay closer to your cruise! I wish your family TREASUREd memories on board! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.
Seas the Adventure,
Rana
