Does the blue launch ferry run all day? I'd like to know if my parents staying at Wilderness Lodge can come join us at our cabin for breakfast in the morning via the ferry. Additionally, can my family of 6 visit them at WL to swim?

Hiya, Lisa! Welcome back to planDisney!

I’m happy to help with your transportation question. Walt Disney World Resort is approximately 40 square miles, which means it's about as big as  San Francisco and twice as big as Manhattan. Even experienced adventurers need help finding their way around from time to time!

I talked with a helpful Cast Member, and they told me that the blue launch route around Bay Lake starts running between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness after 3 PM most days. Water taxi schedules and routes are subject to change, so I’d suggest that your parents use the My Disney Experience mobile app to look up directions on the morning they plan to visit Fort Wilderness, and the app will show them the available transportation options. It will also provide step-by-step directions and estimated travel times. They can also talk to a Cast Member at the front desk to get directions if they’d prefer.

Now on to the swimming pools! Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools are reserved for guests staying at that specific hotel. Unfortunately, that means that your family doesn’t have access to the Copper Creek Springs Pool and Boulder Ridge Cove Pool at Wilderness Lodge. If you’d like to get together with your whole family for a pool party, I’d suggest checking out one of Walt Disney World’s water parks: Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.

Lisa, I hope this information helps with your vacation planning and that you have a wonderful visit to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. Come right back to planDisney if you have more questions. We’re always happy to help!

    Magical travels!
