Will a Blue DD Form 2(retired) work for the resort discount? I spoke to a Disney cast member and they said it would but I’m just super worried!

    Hi Brittiany!

Welcome to planDisney!  We appreciate the dedication and service of our military families and are honored to help you plan a vacation filled with magical moments!  My grandfather was a veteran and I like to watch the Flag Retreat ceremony when I can at Magic Kingdom Park as a special way to remember and honor his service on my visits to Walt Disney World Resort.

Brittiany, Walt Disney World Resort often has special offers available to members of the U.S. military as a way to say "thank you" for your service.  Currently, the terms and conditions for the military resort discount state that a valid military ID will need to be presented at check-in, and the military member (or spouse) must be staying in the room.  I also reached out to a Cast Member and confirmed that a Blue DD Form 2 should work just fine as that military identification.  If you haven't yet purchased tickets for your vacation, you may want to check out the Military Salute Tickets offered at a special discounted price.  These tickets are available for purchase from participating US military base ticketing offices.  While you're there, don't forget to ask about adding Memory Maker for your stay - also available at a special discount to service members!  If you decide to purchase Military Salute Tickets, it's important to note that these tickets still require theme park reservations in order to enter the parks.

As you continue to plan your vacation, I'd recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as we'll probably be learning more very soon about some of the special events that make fall a bibbidi-bobbidi-BOOtiful time of year to visit the parks!  During your visit, you may have an opportunity to attend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.  This special-ticketed event typically includes a festive parade, spooktacular stage show, amazing fireworks, and tasty trick-or-treats in addition to most of the rides and attractions throughout Magic Kingdom Park.  I also love the annual EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival!  This festival not only highlights unique food and drink offerings throughout the park but also includes nightly entertainment as part of the Eat to the Beat Concert Series.

Brittiany, I hope this helps you plan a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort!  Please stop by to see us again if you have any other questions in the future - we're all ears!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
