Hi there, Miriam. Thanks for taking the time to stop by planDisney with your questions for us!
Just a couple more sleeps before you get to be at the Happiest Place on Earth on June 29th. I bet you’re excited for all the pixie-dusted fun you’ll get to experience! I’m happy to report that Blue Bayou Restaurant located at New Orleans Square in Disneyland Park has recently reopened! In fact, my fellow planDisney Panelist friends and I just dined there yesterday. While it is encouraged to have an
advance dining reservation, there may be standby availability. Dining reservations went fast on the first day
Blue Bayou Restaurant opened its booking. However, people do cancel or modify their plans. I would recommend checking for dining reservations on
Disneyland.com or on your
Disneyland mobile app; sometimes you may be lucky and able to snag a dining reservation.
Another suggestion is to try walking up to inquire about a table during non-peak times. For example, consider a late lunch or early dinner rather than at noon when most Guests prefer to dine. We happened to inquire about a table around 2:30 PM and was able to dine there after a very brief wait. Disney magic definitely happened for us and it is possible for you to try for standby also.
I wish you the best of luck, whether you try for dining reservations frequently prior to arrival, inquire at the restaurant during your visit or both! If you have additional questions regarding planning your upcoming trip, please don’t hesitate to visit us on
planDisney again! We’re all EARS!
See ya real soon,
Kiki
