Blue Bayou or GCH Craftsman Grill? Please help me decide! We only have 2 nights for dinner (teens/parents). Other night is Lamplight. The other night is one of these 2 but I can't decide. Staying at GCH. Family has never been to DL, just WDW.

Hi Jennifer, welcome back to planDisney!

In my personal opinion, Blue Bayou Restaurant is one of the most popular dining locations at the Disneyland Resort. Dining reservations are EXTREMELY hard to get for Blue Bayou due to its popularity! So if you were able to secure a reservation, I 100% recommend choosing Blue Bayou over GCH Craftsman Grill. Don't get me wrong, I'm also a big fan of GCH Craftsman Grill, but to me, Blue Bayou is such a unique must-have dining experience. Especially since this will be your family's first time visiting! The cool thing about Blue Bayou is that it is built in conjunction with the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, so you can see the Pirates of the Caribbean boats glide past you as you dine!

So my recommendation, have Blue Bayou be your first choice, and GCH Craftsman Grill be your second choice. Try to book reservations for both, and if you're unable to grab a reservation for Blue Bayou, then you can all dine at GCH Craftsman Grill.

You and your family chose a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort by the way! Why you may ask? Because many experiences have returned to the Disneyland Resort, like the traditional character meet and greets, which means Mickey and all his Pals are ready to give out the best hugs and sign your autograph books. And many of the fantastic nighttime experiences are back as well! The Main Street Electrical Parade, Disneyland Forever fireworks, World of Color, and my personal favorite, Fantasmic! have all returned!
