Is the Blue Bayou closed in April?

Hi there, Crystal! Welcome to planDisney. Blue Bayou is a beloved restaurant at Disneyland, and for good reason. Its label as Special and Unique Dining is due to how the restaurant is situated right within the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. I’d love to walk you through the reservation details to see if you can snag a table for your visit in April!

With dining reservations, you can book up to 60 days in advance to secure those top picks. Of course, everything is subject to availability, which is something to consider when visiting in April, as it is considered a busy season in the parks. Due to its popularity, especially with the unique experience this restaurant offers, it may already be booked for that reason. After speaking to a Cast Member through the Disneyland mobile app, they let me know that there are no refurbishments scheduled for April at this time, and it is indeed open in April. She also noted that the lack of availability is certainly due to the popularity of the restaurant itself and how the 2026 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival brings in additional crowds as the festivities kick off on March 6, 2026, through April 27, 2026. With the popularity of Blue Bayou, keep an eye on the reservation page, as Guests may cancel, giving you an opportunity to snag that reservation!

If you’re still hoping to dine in New Orleans Square and are in the mood for Cajun-Creole cuisine, then look no further! Across from Blue Bayou is Cafe Orleans, which offers similar dishes. Their outdoor seating overlooks Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America. My family loves to eat here, especially on a warm, spring day when we can feast on the Monte Cristo Sandwich, which gives notes of savory and sweet all in one bite! My son loves to slowly sneak my pomme frites onto his plate when I’m not watching, too!

Crystal, thank you so much for visiting planDisney! My fingers are crossed for you to get a reservation to dine at Blue Bayou. If you have any more questions about your upcoming visit, planDisney is always here to help!
