Welcome back to planDisney, Denise!
Thanks for dropping by with another great Disney Vacation Club question. It sounds like you've already heard the great news –– Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is open once again for Disney Vacation Club Members to enjoy! But while the lounge still retains its sophisticated atmosphere (not to mention that
incredible view), if you've visited in the past, you might notice things look a little different. While the lounge was temporarily closed, some fiendish friends set up shop. As it just so happens, they left a few surprises behind when they moved on, and
Top of the World Lounge - A Villians Lair was born!
While Top of the World Lounge is open exclusively to Disney Vacation Club Members, you don't need a reservation at
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort to enjoy everything this swanky hideout has to offer. To gain entry, you just need to be a DVC Member with access to
Membership Extras, using your Membership (either Points or cash) to stay at a Disney-owned-and-operated hotel. And the best part? You're welcome to bring all Guests staying on your reservation along with you, so everyone can join in the fun.
To access Top of the World Lounge, you'll need to check in and present your
DVC Digital Membership Card at the desk located near the Bay Lake Tower lobby. While the lounge operates on a first-come basis, you currently also have the opportunity to reserve your spot in advance with the purchase of the Wicked Wind Down package. For an additional fee, not only does this package guarantee your spot in the lounge, but you'll also get to enjoy an appetizer, cocktail, dessert, and a specially-reserved area to view the fireworks from Magic Kingdom Park. To make reservations for your upcoming visit, you can give Member Services a call at (800) 800-9800 up to 60 days in advance.
Since it looks like you'll be visiting in early July 2023, I do want to share that Top of the World Lounge may have blockout dates or restricted access around holidays or special events. Typically, these dates include July 3rd and 4th, as well as December 30th and 31st, each year. While there may still be opportunities for Members to visit the lounge during these times, the procedures for entry are usually different and access isn't guaranteed. As your visit gets closer, be sure to keep an eye on the "News & Alerts" section of the DVC website or give
Member Services a call –– they should be able to answer any of your questions about the holiday lounge procedures or give you more details.
Again, thanks for visiting planDisney, Denise! I hope your next Walt Disney World Resort visit is filled with devilish delights and plenty of Membership Magic!
Have a Magical Day,
Amy
