Welcome to planDisney, Cheryl!
Thanks for stopping by to talk about one of my favorite activities in
Walt Disney World - visiting the water parks! My family loves water slides, and the attractions at the
Walt Disney World Water Parks are some of the best around.
Currently, the mountains, slopes, and slides at
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park are closed to Guests. We have yet to determine precisely when this park will reopen, so I suggest following the
Disney Parks Blog and
our Instagram account to be among the first to know when news breaks.
At this time, you're welcome to enjoy the island paradise of
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. My children and I recently spent a day of our spring break vacation here and had a fantastic time. My son was initially disappointed that Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park wasn't open (he had his sights set on finally taking the plunge on Summit Plummet!), but he loved the more thrilling slides at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. We rode Crush 'n' Gusher, Humunga Kowabunga, and Miss Adventure Falls multiple times that day. We also had a great time in the wave pool, a unique feature of Disney's Typhoon Lagoon.
I hope Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park opens before your visit. If not, and you still want to make a splash during your holiday, I know you'll enjoy Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Given its location near
Disney Springs, my perfect day here concludes with dinner at
The BOATHOUSE® or
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin'. Showers and changing rooms are available to freshen up before heading out.
Bonus: if you're a guest of a hotel in the
Disney Resorts Collection, towels are complimentary. Find them at Singapore Sal's or Snowless Joe's.
Thanks for sending your question our way, Cheryl. Best wishes for a magical getaway, and if there's anything else we at planDisney can do before your adventures begin, don't hesitate to write back. You've got a friend in me!
