Hi there, Monica!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for visiting us with your splashtastic Walt Disney World Resort Water Parks question. Let's dive right into it!
You are correct,
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is closing beginning March 17, 2024. While I will miss Summit Plummet for sure, luckily
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be opening the same day, so we don't have to live without a Disney Water Park as the weather warms up! Although history is not an indication of future experiences, and each park is subject to availability, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park did not reopen until November of last year, so it may be best to plan to purchase tickets to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park instead this summer.
At Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, you'll find Guest favorites such as the
Crush 'n' Gusher and the
largest surf pool in North America! If you enjoy a thrill, I recommend a trip down
Humunga Kowabunga. It's like Summit Plummet in the dark! If you enjoy chills more than the thrills,
Castaway Creek will be your jam. This lazy river journeys 2000 feet on a path around the park. Did you know that
surfing programs are also available at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park?
All that swimming, splashing and floating can work up an appetite and the Elote Nachos at
Leaning Palms are delicious! You can also use the convenient
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering through the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. For dessert, my family loves the
Sand Pail--2 kinds of soft-serve topped with waffle cone pieces, cookie chunks, hot fudge and sprinkles. It even comes in a plastic sand pail with a shovel!
Have a wonderful summer, Monica! I wish you many happy visits to the Disney Water Park. If there is anything else we are able to assist you with, please let us know. We are here to help!
Magical Wishes,
Lauren
