Are there blackout dates for Disney waterparks

Hi there, Danielle, and welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for splashing your question our way. The wonderful thing about Florida weather is that it's nearly perfect year round, which means fun in the sun throughout most of the year. Disney's Blizzard Beach and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Parks are the places to cool off and take it easy. Let's get into anything that may restrict your visits. (Spoiler alert: I have great news ahead!)

If you have a Walt Disney World Resort Annual Pass with a Water Parks and Sports Option or a theme park ticket with Park Hopper Plus, the blockout dates that you have for the theme parks do not apply for the water parks. There are some limitations for some of the Sports options though. For example, there are no blockout dates for the two mini golf courses, but you have to play the free one round before 4 p.m.

1-Day Water Park Tickets with Blockout Dates are subject to blockout dates, according to the Walt Disney World Resort website. These blockout dates are May 25 to September 29, 2024 and May 24 to September 28, 2025. However, if you want to avoid blockout dates, you'll want to purchase a 1-Day Water Park Ticket.

AN EXTRA GEM: Keep in mind that one water park is operating at a time. Disney's Blizzard Beach closes its doors for the season after March 16, 2024 and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon opens on March 17, 2024. The water park ticket that you purchase is good for either of the parks that is open at the time.

Please give us a holler if you have any additional Disney vacation planning questions, Danielle. Any one of us here at planDisney would be more than happy to help. Just keep swimming!

    Magic always,
