What are the blackout dates for 2021-2022 for cruises booked using a placeholder deposit purchased on a previous cruise? When will the dates for early 2022 be available? Thanks so much!

    Ahoy Kay!

Sounds like you cannot wait to hear the words, "Welcome aboard Kay and her family!" Believe me, I'm in the same boat right there with you. Having a placeholder means you are one step closer to finalizing your Disney Cruise Line vacation and all that's included on a Disney cruise. A top priority before I leave one cruise is to book a placeholder for the future so I can take advantage of the onboard booking specials! Disney Cruise Line makes it easy peasy lemon squeezy by allowing Guests to book a placeholder to be used within 24 months. I don't have to commit to a particular itinerary, and it gives me the flexibility I love to peruse all the offerings once I get home.

I checked with Disney Cruise Line to confirm the current blockout dates for placeholders for 2021:

Disney Fantasy –March 27, April 3
    Disney Dream – March 29, April 2, April 5
    Disney Wonder – March 28, April 2
    Disney Magic – March 29, April 3

That's as far out as we go right not, so there's no word yet on the blockout dates for 2022 yet. Please note that the above dates are subject to change without notice, so I recommend that you double-check by contacting Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent. That way, you'll be certain that nothing has changed when you go to book your next adventure with Captain Mickey!

As for when the early 2022 itineraries will be released, your guess is honestly as good as mine! Historically, Disney Cruise Line has announced those itineraries around late September. So keep a weather eye around that time and be ready to go when they release. Sounds like you are well aware that this is one of the best ways to get the most bang for your Disney buck! I also have bookmarked the Disney Parks Blog for the most recent Disney Cruise Line developments.

As you finalize your plans, chart a course for the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We are always happy to help you captain your cruise planning from start to finish.

    Happy Sailing!
