A bit of confusion.. Sailing on Wish for Halloween. Some say they do a trick or treat activity, some say they just handout 1 bag with a few pieces of candy. Could a cast member clarify? We don’t want our 4yo to get excited about something and it not occur

    Ahoy there, Amanda!

Welcome back to planDisney! It’s so wonderful to hear from you again, and I love that you’re trading in your summer memories from the Disney Dream for pumpkin ears on the Disney Wish! There’s something extra magical about setting sail during Halloween on the High Seas—where even the sand at Castaway Cay seems to sparkle a little more orange and black!

Now, I completely understand wanting to make sure your little one doesn’t get their hopes up about trick-or-treating. While offerings can vary slightly from sailing to sailing, my crew and I have experienced several Halloween on the High Seas voyages (including two aboard the Wish), and I can assure you—it’s much more “trick-or-treat” than “trick.” During our sailings, the ship transformed into a floating Halloween party, complete with themed music, decorations, and plenty of candy stations set up around the pool deck. Guests made their way from station to station collecting sweet treasures from the always-smiling Cast Members. By the time the night was over, my kids (and maybe us adults) had enough candy to make Oogie Boogie jealous!

The single-bag setup you may have heard about was something we saw during the early return-to-sailing phase, when Disney Cruise Line took extra health precautions. These days, however, trick-or-treating has returned to its more interactive format, though as with all onboard events, offerings are subject to change depending on factors like weather or itinerary adjustments.

Looking at your itinerary, it sounds like you’re in for a frightfully delightful voyage! You can currently expect Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party (which includes trick-or-treating) on your first sea day, Pirate Night while visiting Nassau, and a fun optional dress-up evening during your day at Castaway Cay. It’s the perfect balance of swashbuckling adventure and spooky fun—a little Captain Hook, a little Jack Skellington!

I hope this helps you and your 4-year-old feel even more excited to join in on all the Halloween festivities at sea. No matter how much candy ends up in your bag, the memories you’ll make aboard the Wish will be the real treat of the trip.

Sea ya real soon with boo-tiful nights and frightfully fun days,
    Dustin
