Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Catherine! I had to rack my brain for a few minutes and look back at my Cinderella Castle Mosaic photos when it hit me. I knew exactly what you were talking about!
And I simply adore that you thought the mosaics were related because… well… they ARE! The 5 Cinderella Mosaic panels inside
Walt Disney World’s Cinderella Castle are beautiful, but the “33” mosaic is actually a part of Magic Kingdom at Disneyland Resort in California. Both mosaics were created from artistic renderings and drawings by a
Disney Legend named Dorathea Redmond! You are correct when you supposed the “33” referred to a suite, because it is actually the doorway marker to the famed
Club 33 that Walt created to entertain guests in New Orleans Square. I visited
Disneyland Resort this summer twice and made sure to snap photos with the door to the club. When you pass through Cinderella Castle on your next magical vacation, be sure to take time inside the Castle and notice all the tiny details and jewels within the mural. Artists took over two years to put it together!
And if you come upon a membership or a key to Club 33 in California, please call me to be your guest; I want to see the inside of the club! Perhaps we can toast in style if a new Club 33 location opens in Florida. I’m crossing my fingers that a new mosaic would mark the entrance just like Dorathea envisioned! Cheers! To many magic memories! ~ Lindsey P.
