    Birthday cakes! I am celebrating my big 60th next year...I'm just a kid at heart! Can anyone tell me or show pictures of birthday cakes? My theme is "the Little Mermaid"! thanks all!

    Well Happy Early Birthday, Peggy!

    Disney World is the perfect place to celebrate a birthday, especially the big 6-0, and I can't think of a place I'd rather be on this extra special day! 

    The pastry chefs all around the Walt Disney World Resort are available to make your every birthday cake wish come true!  We celebrated my daughter's 4th and 5th birthdays at Disney and ordered a fabulous custom cake creation each time!  We have always been impressed with the entire process.  First, you call into the Cake Hotline at (407)-827-2253.  They will connect you with the pastry department closest to your "home" resort! The chef who will be handling your order will soon be in touch to discuss the fine details of your special order!  You can always search google images to find a photo of the perfect cake.  You can then request to email this to the chef for inspiration!  Trust me, they can create ANYTHING from simple to lavish!

    Unfortunately, there is no portfolio of cake designs available for viewing.  I sure do wish they would compile one, but as of today, the best option is to search threads on the unofficial Disboards forum site as well as the Disney Food Blog.  Many guests have posted photos of their beautiful custom cakes on these sites!
