have any of you had a birthday cake made for a family member during a trip to Disney; how much did it cost, was it worth it?

Hi Toby! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Birthdays are very unforgettable at the Walt Disney World Resort, and a special birthday cake is always a great addition to make everyone’s special day even more special.
I think it is totally worth it! I have already ordered the Mickey Mouse Cake, this one for my little princess third birthday and the Specialty Cake. For ordering special cakes, you have to call the Walt Disney World Resort cake hotline in advance at (407) 827-2253.  Prices will vary depending on size and customization and you can ask for it to be delivered to the restaurant of your preference. Another alternative would be the "Celebrate Today!" Cake in chocolate or Vanilla, available at many restaurants. No notice is necessary for those, you can order upon arrival at the restaurant.
Hope this information helps your planning. Come back to visit us again if you have further questions.
    Have a wonderful day!
