My birthday is April 6th..(I will be turning 40) we are not scheduled to arrive until April 22. Does Disney still acknowledge birthdays after the actual birthday? Do I let anyone know there when we arrive? or should I do it in advance?

    Andrea:

If you're celebrating, Disney is celebrating...

So it doesn't matter if your birthday was last week or last month, they'll celebrate it with you if you're celebrating at Disney!  My husband and I found this out last year when we couldn't get to Disney to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary in April and had to wait until September.  As long as we were wearing our Anniversary buttons, Cast Members knew we were celebrating and on a few occasions sprinkled a little pixie dust our way.

If I were in your shoes, I'd let them know in advance and upon check-in that it's your birthday. If you're making dining reservations, make a note there, too.  When you check-in ask for a birthday button if they don't notice it on your reservation. Or if you forget, you can always visit Guest Services in the park to get your button. Wear it proudly as Cast Members can certainly make magic, but they aren't mind readers.

Wishing you a magical vacation and a memorable birthday!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
