Hiya, Ashlee! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
I appreciate your attention to detail, especially as it comes to preparing for your cruise this May. I did consult with a helpful Disney Cruise Line Cast Member and confirmed you do need to use your original birth certificate and it cannot be laminated, unfortunately. If that doesn’t work for you, please check out the other
acceptable travel documents.
Speaking of being prepared, Disney Cruise Line has also compiled a helpful
packing list. I print out my own with check marks before and after each item and give one to each of my kids. That way they can check off what they packed before we leave, but it also helps for packing up at the end of our vacation.
And while I don’t like talking about the end of my cruise, I recommend booking a
placeholder via your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before disembarking. Not only will you save money on a future Disney Cruise, you can always request a refund if you cannot find an itinerary that works with your schedule within 24 months.
I hope this helps set your mind at ease before you set sail on the high seas! If you think of any other questions, don’t hesitate to head back to us here at
planDisney.
Bon voyage!
