My ? is want to do bike rental during Aug '09 trip..CAN"T WAIT!! know there are many places to do this. Which is the most scenic? Will they seat 5? 2 adults-3kids 9,5,21mos..staying at the Poly want to explore other resorts 4 future trips U guys R awe

    Natcha:

I'm like you: I LOVE to explore other resorts while I'm at Disney to scout out my next trip!

I like your idea about renting bikes to take in other resorts!  Although many resorts have bike rentals (Ft. Wilderness, Caribbean Beach Resort, Coronado Springs, and the Polynesian where you're staying) if I had to pick one "scenic" location for exploring for your next trip it would be the bike rentals near the Boardwalk.  Best of all, you can rent a surrey bike for all of you to enjoy! (One that seats 6 adults runs $22 plus tax for 1/2 hour.)  From there you can take in not only Boardwalk Inn, but also the Beach and Yacht Clubs along with the Swan and Dolphin hotels!  You can call the Boardwalk Bike Rental at: 407-560-8754.

A close second would be Ft. Wilderness because the trails are so extensive, I swear the temperature at the fort is ten degrees cooler than other places on property, and our family loves the outdoors. The fort's Bike Barn rents bikes with training wheels and child seats, and helmets are free.  A full day rental is $18 plus tax.  Although you'd have to return the bikes to the barn by 5 p.m., you and the kids could make the most of your time while waiting for Chip 'n' Dale's campfire at 8 p.m. (did I mention it's free).  Consider getting a bucket of chicken from Trail End's take-out window near the pier and eating at one of the tables on the beach.  There's a large playground nearby, too. The Bike Barn's phone number is 407-824-2742.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
