What is the biggest differences between the Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter Resorts? Pro's and Con's at both? Which would be a better place to stay for an all-grown-up trip/girls-get-away? Thanks and love the panel!

    Hi there Brandie!

An all-grown-up trip for the girls?! I love it! You're going to have a fabulous time.

If I were visiting with just girlfriends, I'd definitely choose Port Orleans French Quarter, hands down. It's a smaller resort with a very quaint feel. The rooms are lovely and the pool area has a great, secluded hot tub for relaxing with the grown up crowd. You're closer to Downtown Disney at this location and just a short ride via boat to get to all the night life there. As for getting to and from the parks, POFQ is the first pick up stop and the first drop off stop (buses are usually shared with Port Orleans Riverside).

Port Orleans Riverside is a fantastic resort also. It's much larger than French Quarter, and due to the themed rooms available there, you'll generally find more families with youngsters staying at that location. Overall, I find POR to be busier in the quick service dining area, pool and bus stops. Port Orleans Riverside does have a marina and horse-drawn carriage rides, should you be interested, however it's an easy walk there from French Quarter to access these amenities and extras.

I've stayed at both resorts, so if you're still torn and have specific questions, please feel free to write me back. It would be my pleasure to assist you in any way that I can!

Wishing you a simply Magical girls' get away at Walt Disney World Brandie!
