Biggest differences in crowd behavior between Paris and US parks?

Bonjour Lauren, and welcome back to planDisney!

Something I really love about getting to travel to all of the Disney Destinations around to world, is observing the way that fellow guests behave at each of the different theme parks; whether it's politely sitting down on leisure sheets and patiently waiting over at Tokyo Disney Resort, casually strolling into Hong Kong Disneyland Park later in the morning or the entrance rush to meet Characters at Shanghai Disney Resort it's always so intriguing to see! When it comes to the behavior you'll encounter at Disneyland Paris, I can definitely provide you with a day of some of my personal insights and observations during my most recent visit this year alongside so many guests from across Europe and beyond with their own unique habits and quirks:

    • Whether it's due to the availability of snack offerings across the theme parks or the greater prevalence of all-you-can-eat buffet meals found here, I definitely did not quite observe as many folks walking around eating handheld treats to the same extent. It did also seem more common for folks to make their way out to Disney Village for meals!
    • Since it looks like you're visiting in April, it's important to be mindful of the school holidays in France as well as the United Kingdom which can definitely affect how many more kids will be at the theme parks with their families. (I was interested to notice that this mostly affected standby waits to meet Characters and for more thrilling rides while the classic, slow-moving dark rides did not quite have longer waits in our experience.)
    • In my personal opinion, watching nighttime entertainment and fireworks such as Disney Illuminations was where we saw the greatest difference in guest behavior - and it can honestly be a bit challenging when you've got so many more children hoisted up on shoulders and folks jostling for remaining space right before showtime. (For this reason I highly recommend booking access to the reserved viewing area whenever possible, just to have the best chances of having a great view and more personal space!)
If you do end up finding it to be a bit busier than you expected, I'd consider purchasing Disney Premier Access for your visit just to help get ahead of the crowds!

Here's to guests of all kinds at our favorite Disney Destinations!
