Greetings Kathleen, and thanks for floating your question by planDisney. I'm happy to lend a fin!
Duuuuuude! Do I have some good news for you! Just the other day, I was cruising by the
Big Blue Pool at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort, and it had officially reopened after a winter renovation. Pending any unexpected issues, it should remain open for your visit in July. Gimme some fin on that one! Summer in Walt Disney World is the perfect time to spend a few hours each day chilling out in the waves, so I'm thrilled to share this latest news.
Since you'll be visiting during one of the warmest months of the year in Florida, if you can make room in your itinerary, I suggest hopping over to
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park for an especially splash-tacular time. My son and I hit the slopes there last week, and it made for an ideal midday break when we were spending time at nearby
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Cooling off and hitting the slides at the state's only ski resort was fun and refreshing. Additionally, the park serves up some of our favorite Disney snacks, the
Sand Pail Sundae and
Mini Donuts. The best part is, you won't need to hop on the East Australian Current to get there; buses travel directly to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park from Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
I hope this is getting you even more excited for your July visit, Kathleen. My little dudes go for at least one swim per day during our Walt Disney World trips, and I understand how important the pool situation is to a resort stay. Have a
fintastic trip, and if there's anything else we can do before you dive into vacation mode, come back anytime.
Just keep swimming,
Betsy
