Hiya Alesia!
It’s so nice to see you back here at planDisney, especially with a question about one of my favorite little Fort Wilderness details! So, let’s jump right into it.
My family and I stayed in the
cabins a
t Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground for almost a week, and those mason jar cups were one of those small touches that made the stay feel extra cozy. When my husband opened the cabinet and saw them, he literally said, “Okay, wait… these are adorable!” You’ll be happy to know they are still there, and we used them all week long. There’s just something about sipping a drink from them after a day in the parks that fits perfectly with that laid-back, campfire vibe.
Speaking of campground magic, here’s a fun little fact that I learned about. When you pass by the
horse trails, take a look at the ground. You might notice what looks like colorful glass mixed into the sand. So, the neatest fact I learned is that it’s actually recycled glass from around Disney World, smoothed down and repurposed. It’s such a cool detail, and it’s completely smooth. I even walked on it barefoot!
Also, while you’re there, I have to recommend checking out the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. It is such a fun, rootin’ tootin’ dinner show. My husband got pulled up on stage when we went, and my daughters were laughing the entire time. Definitely one of those core memory moments you don’t forget.
Alesia, I hope this helps and gets you even more excited for your Fort Wilderness stay! If you have any more questions, feel free to stop by again.
See you real soon!
Christina
