A big family of 9 planning to go to WDW in june 2013, any resort recommendations for this big family?

    Hi Susana!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

This is a really hard question as all of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels can accommodate a large group.  Some Disney Deluxe Villas can accommodate the whole group in one unit.  If you want to go that route, I would recommend a Grand Villa; if you have a car, I would definitely recommend Old Key West as it will provide you with the most room in my opinion.

If you want a Disney Deluxe Resort, I would recommend the Contemporary Resort or the Polynesian Resort.  Both are on the Magic Kingdom line and both have some of the largest rooms on property which might help as some family members go visit other family members in different rooms.

You also might consider staying in a couple of Fort Wilderness cabins.  The Fort Wilderness cabins are Disney Moderate Resorts, but the cabins might be nice because they all have a patio with a picnic table.  Again, it might give visiting family members so where to hang out when visiting other family members.

All of that said, it is also possible that some family members might want to stay in different resort hotels.  That's easy to accommodate if family members have their own transportation;.  If you have to rely on Disney transportation then some hotels are better suited than others; generally speaking, it's hard to get from one Disney hotel to another unless they share some form of transportation, such as the monorail, or are in walking distance.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
