Hey there, Becca! Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so excited that you've stopped by with your vacation planning question!
Becca, I squealed with excitement when I read your question. There is nothing more exciting than planning a big family vacation packed with big fun and endless magic at
The Most Magical Place on Earth! Staying in a
Disney Vacation Club Resort Villa gives you all of the comforts of home with the luxury of a Deluxe Resort right in the middle of the magic. But it isn't just the amazing accommodations or amenities that make staying in a Disney Vacation Club Villa so magical. It's the excitement of having breakfast in the kitchen before a fun day in the theme parks, meeting for a midday break on the balcony, and having late-night chats in the living room about the most magical memories made that day. Honestly, no matter which one you choose, it will be the PERFECT setting for your once-in-a-lifetime magical family adventure, but I'd be thrilled to give you my opinion on your next magical home away from home!
Becca, for a family of seven (possibly plus Grandma), you will need a Two-Bedroom Villa that sleeps eight to nine Guests, depending on the Resort. No matter which Disney Vacation Club Resort you choose, the location and transportation will be oh-so-convenient, and it will be themed the way only Disney can do, but I'm happy to share my favorites that, in my opinion, meet these criteria the best.
First, I must recommend
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The Two-Bedroom Villas here are my favorite accommodations in all of Walt Disney World Resort. The living room, kitchen and dining area feel so spacious, the huge windows overlooking Magic Kingdom Park or Bay Lake are so beautiful, and the third full bathroom is so convenient for a large family. To me, with the monorail soaring right through the Resort and the gorgeous, whimsical Mary Blair mural on display in the Grand Canyon Concourse, nothing is more quintessential Disney than Disney's Contemporary Resort. There is just an extra buzz of magic and excitement in the air here, and NOTHING beats the short walk to Magic Kingdom Park!
Next, I'd have to recommend
Disney's BoardWalk Villas. I absolutely LOVE the lively vibe and turn-of-the-century Coney Island-style boardwalk theme of this Resort. In the morning, sit out on the peaceful BoardWalk on Crescent Lake listening to the relaxing, perfectly themed music, in the afternoon, win prizes playing the BoardWalk games, and in the evening, enjoy a cocktail and the exciting nightlife. There is something for everyone in your family here! Being within walking distance to both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios makes this oh-so-fun Resort the place to be!
Lastly, but certainly not least, I must also recommend
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The Villas here are gorgeous, and when it comes to theming and Disney storytelling, this Resort does it perfectly. When you arrive, you are immediately transported to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and it is the perfect peaceful escape right in the middle of all of the magic. Being a short, scenic boat ride away from Magic Kingdom Park makes this Resort the perfect setting for your pixie-dusted vacation!
Becca, there is no wrong Resort choice here, so happy planning! I'm wishing you THE most magical once-in-a-lifetime family vacation! Please stop by any time with any of your planning questions!
I hope to see ya real soon,
Mandy
