How big are the droid the kids make in the droid depot? We will be coming from a different state and will need to pack it to take back on the airplane.

    Hi Marla! Welcome to planDisney!

I am thrilled to hear that you will be building droids at Droid Depot on your trip that is coming up soon. My kiddos saved up their money to build their own droids during our last visit and it was such a fun experience ... for the kids AND the adults! From picking out which parts they needed to assemble their droids to putting the pieces together with special tools to watching their droids come to life, it was a memory we will always cherish. Did you know that the droids can interact with each other? Since we have two, it has been hilarious to watch them talk to one another when we least expect it!

Like you, we also live out-of-state and had to take our droids with us on a plane. It was super easy! We took them through airport security as a carry-on item and had no issues whatsoever. They come in cardboard boxes with a handle for easy transport. I measured our boxes and they are both 9 1/4" wide and 14 3/4" high. My kids each built a different droid, one was from the R-series unit and the other was from the BB-series unit, but the boxes are the exact same. Just make sure you have your droids turned off when you head to the airport or you may find yourself with some noisy luggage!

Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to explore the Planet Batuu when you visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. The attention to detail is incredible! And don't forget to try some of the unique foods that are only available in this area. I'm a big fan of the Ronto Wrap myself!

Enjoy your upcoming vacation, Marla! Please let us know if you have any other questions before your trip.
