Is there a big difference between the Port Orleans FQ and the Port Orleans Riverside? I know they are sister properties, however, is there any differences between the two? Our group will have 3 (2 adults & 1 kid (3). Which resort would be better for us

Hi Cassandra - there are definite differences between the two resorts, but it's difficult to say which is best.  It really depends upon your preferences.  As you mentioned, they are affiliated, and therefore share amenities, but each has it's own charms.

Port Orleans Riverside is definitely the larger and busier of the resorts, and is the only one with a table service restaurant (Boatwrights).  The gift shop is larger, as is the food court, and the pool area.  There are two major themes in RIverside - the mansion buildings of Magnolia Bend, and the Alligator Bayou rooms.  Port Orleans Riverside is typically the second resort on the bus route, so sometimes the buses can be more crowded.  On the plus side, however, there is more going on at Riverside, including hair wrapping, fishing, and caricatures.

Port Orleans French Quarter is much more laid back, and is smaller.  I think it's a great resort for relaxing, and while the food court and pool area is smaller, there are less people around.

For more information on the Port Orleans resort, I'd recommend you take a look at the unofficial site www.portorleans.org, which offers loads of information on Port Orleans.

    Have a great vacation!
