Is the Biergerten Restaurant a good choice for our family with a 4 yr and 8 yr old girls? I'm nervous to have young children around adults who will be drinking, but wonder if it would be a really fun place to eat. As always, thanks for your wisdom and help

    Hi Sharise,

The Biergarten in Epcot's Germany Pavilion is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Walt Disney World.  In the many times I've eaten there, I've never witnessed guests drinking to excess.  Many people do sample the wide range of German beers on the menu, but it has never struck me as a huge distraction from a delightful dining experience.

One of the real perks of eating here is the fabulous musical show that takes place periodically throughout the lunch and dinner hours.  Accordions, hand bells, and alpine horns - oh my!  What an engaging performance you'll find here!  Guests frequently take to the dance floor while the musicians play.  This is a great place to sample authentic German music and food.  Do keep in mind that your family of four will likely be seated with another group of four to fill the banquet tables found in this restaurant.  That's how they seat guests at the Hofbrauhas in Munich, as I discovered during my recent trip to Germany with Adventures by Disney.  It's a fun way to meet new people and experience a true German dining experience.

If you do decide to dine at the Biergarten, don't forget to call (407) WDW-DINE to make advance dining reservations.

Wishing you a magical vacation with your family!
