Hi Noelle!
Thank you for
dashing by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this great
runDisney question! Last year, I participated in the runDisney
Star Wars 2019 Virtual Half Marathon. The
runDisney Virtual Series is a great way to have fun and run at your own pace!
When I participated in a virtual event, I registered online and downloaded the virtual bib. It did not include a bib number, nor did I create one. Once I completed the race, I went back to the event site, entered my completion time, and received my medal a few weeks later. I did call 407-939-4786 to speak with a runDisney representative and she confirmed that this year's bibs for the virtual events do not have bib numbers. For this year's virtual series, you can download the bibs for each event - the
runDisney Virtual 5k - Mad Tea Party;
runDisney Virtual 5K - Space Mountain®; and
runDisney virtual 5K - The Haunted Mansion®. If you complete all three events in the
runDisney Virtual Challenge, be sure to download the
Finisher Certificate!
As you make plans, also take a look at the Disney Parks Blog feature
What's a runDisney Virtual Race? You might find some creative and inspirational ideas. If you need to make your run feel more official, also consider downloading the
virtual toolkit that includes start, finish, and mile marker signs. Remember to review the
policies and procedures as well.
Noelle, when I participated, I ran with my favorite
Star Wars shirt, but I am sure you have other, more creative costume ideas. For me, this was a great way to run at my own pace and at a park that I love at home, yet I still felt connected to others who were embarking on their own challenge. As you run, remember to take pictures and when you finish, post on social media. In the words of my favorite Jedi Master,
Do or do not. There is no try.
Magic and memories,
Donyell
