My bf and I are going to WDW 8/17-8/21 and he is leaving for the military soon after we get back, I was wondering if you had any ideas on how I can do something special for him while we are there. I'm on a budget but would like something special :) Thanks!

    Hi Avery.

First of all, please thank your dear boyfriend for his service to our country. Walt Disney World is the perfect place to spend quality time with one another prior to his deployment. And there are plenty of inexpensive or free activities for the two of you to enjoy!

I would recommend that you visit Disney's Boardwalk Entertainment Area, especially at sunset. Admission is completely free and you'll often find jugglers, comedians, fire-eaters, jazz ensembles, etc in the evenings that you can stroll around and watch. There are also lots of vendors selling inexpensive food treats and for a small cost, you can try your luck at some carnival-style midway games. Another fun idea would be to rent an old-fashioned fringe-topped surrey bike and giggle together as you pedal along a paved pathway that meanders around Crescent Lake.

A great unofficial website for even more romantic suggestions can be found at: www.allears.net. Simply type in "Romance" in the search box at the top right hand corner of the page for additional inspiration.

Thanks so much for visiting us here at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel! Wishing you both a pixie-dusted Disney vacation!
