Hi! My bf and I are about to go on our 1st WDW vacation together for my 22nd! We're staying at AOA TLM! Should we pack swimwear? We do want to swim since we know the pools are a big highlight at AOA! We've never been to FL in Jan.

    Hi Ashley! Welcome to planDisney.

Oh my goodness, I can FEEL your excitement about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation - hurray! The two of you are going to have such a magical time together, and I know you and your Prince Eric will love The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms at Disney's Art of Animation Resort.

You're absolutely right that "life is the bubbles" when swimming in the beautifully-themed pools at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. I see you are from New York, so I say: ABSOLUTELY bring your swimsuits! Disney Resorts Collection hotel pools are heated to around 82 degrees year-round, so even if the air is a little chilly, you'll feel like a member of Sebastian the Crab's "hot crustacean band" once you dip into that warm water!

I was born and raised in Canada, and my family always swims on our winter visits to Florida. Keep an eye on the weather forecasts in the days leading up to your trip; you'll likely find that mid-day is the warmest time and that the sunshine makes it feel lovely. Once the sun goes down, it can be cool, so be sure to pack warm layers. Plus, as Olaf says, "winter's a good time to stay in and cuddle," and since you're on a romantic visit, there's nothing wrong with needing to snuggle up for warmth after your swim, right?

Happy early birthday, and have so much fun on your visit! Stop by the front desk of your resort hotel, or any merchandise location, to get free celebration buttons. You can use a Sharpie to write down what you're celebrating - "Ashley's 22nd" or "First Visit Together" lets your fellow Guests and Disney Cast Members know you've got something to celebrate, and you'll enjoy the good wishes!

Thank you for stopping by planDisney, and please come back and see us if you have any further questions. Enjoy being "part of that world" at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Wishing you a magical birthday and vacation,
    Robyn
