My BF and I JUST booked our WDW trip for 01/30-02/06 (my 4th, his 2nd trip). Other trips have been during peak times and we always had ADR. Do you think we need ADR for all meals due to the low crowds? May only make ADR for places we don't want to miss!

    Hi Samantha,

Congrats on having just booked your January 30th trip! Hooray!! I can tell you that the end of January/beginning of February is my favorite time of the year to visit WDW in order to avoid crowds.

As you suggested, I would make Advance Dining Reservations for any restaurants that are on your Do Not Miss list. Also, while the restaurant may not be booked solid, you may find that without an ADR that you aren't able to eat at your preferred times. Consider whether you like to dine early (4:30-5:30 p.m.) or late (after 7:00 p.m.) in determining your ADR strategy. Later meals will be easier to book in most cases.

Here's another suggestion, go online to Disney Dining and take a look at how often the seating are available for your preferred meal times. Are their ADRs available at 8:00, 8:10, 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. for that breakfast that you are interested in? If lots of times are available during a single hour when seatings are usually very busy, then you probably can skip making an ADR. If you find that only 8:10 a.m. and then 10:30 a.m. pop up, then bookings are probably going to fill up for that breakfast restaurant.

Even during our October vacation, I was able to make ADRs for some popular restaurants about a week out from our vacation due to cancellations.

    Happy planning!!
