Hi Caleb and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I think you're smart to crunch the numbers on the
Disney Dining Plan. On some of our Walt Disney World Resort vacations the Disney Dining Plan made sense but on others, it did not. All of the Disney Dining Plans now include an alcoholic beverage (where available) for adults age 21 and older. This includes buffets, signature dining, and character dining.
While trying to decide if the Disney Dining Plan is cost-effective for your family, you might want to check the menus at your chosen restaurants. An alcoholic beverage is included but the restaurant might not have something you're interested in. I'm fairly easy going about my beverage choices but I have friends who have particular beers, wines, or cocktails they enjoy and they aren't interested in trying new ones. (If you like trying new drinks, I highly recommend the Lost on Safari at
Tusker House Restaurant.)
Caleb, thank you for visiting us with your question. I hope you'll let us know if we can help you with any other planning questions!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Amy H.
