Is it better to visit a park on the day it offers Extra Magic Hours? Does everyone plan to visit the parks on these days- resulting in larger crowds?

    Hi Jonathan,

WDW resort guests like to take full advantage of all perks of staying on property - myself included so there will be a LOT of people who head to those parks and it will result in larger crowds.

There are a couple of things you need to consider when deciding to visit a park offering EMH.  You must be a WDW resort guest in order to take advantage of EMH and will need your WDW resort ID along with your ticket to enter the park.   Typically the morning EMH is one hour prior to the park opening to the general public.  Be sure to check the website for park hours which will include a schedule for AM and PM EMH.

If you are not staying on property or do not have the park hopper option, I would choose to visit a different park that day.  I'm always there when the gates open to take advantage of the resort guests enjoying the EMH at a different park.

If you have the park hopper option on your tickets, you could head to the park offering the morning EMH - be sure to be there when the gate opens to take full advantage of the EMH - and If the park becomes too crowded for you once it opens to the general public (which shouldn't be immediate), you could hop to a different park.  Keep in mind that if you are traveling during peak season (i.e. week between Christmas and New Years), the park could reach capacity so if you leave, you may not be readmitted back into that park.
