Which is the better time to go to Disney World, MLK week in Feb or Veterans Day week in Nov?

    Larisa:

Although I like to say that my answer depends on what "better" means to you, I have a feeling that you are looking for ideas on which holiday brings more crowds to Disney, so a "better" time for you would be a week with low crowds.

I usually take a peek at the Crowd Calendar predictor at www.touringplans.com when I'm making a decision based crowd numbers, but I've been to Disney during both of these weeks and I can tell you that I'd prefer the November dates, not only because the crowds are more even, but also because of the weather. In early November, you can still wear shorts and enjoy the pools. Additionally, the Christmas decorations are up in the theme parks and most resorts and there are fewer ride closures than in January. Additionally, January can be quite a roller-coaster when it comes to weather: you have to pack twice as much because one day may allow shorts but an evening may find you in a winter coat...

The spike of the MLK holiday does not have a comparison in early November, so your best bet on multiple fronts is to go with the Veterans Day week.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
