Am I better off with a Visa gift card or a Disney gift card? Want to use it for parking, dining, and shopping at the theme parks and water parks. How about Rainforest Cafe restaurant at AK? Less limitations the better.

Hi, Denise! To answer your question, I say, "yes." You're probably saying, "whaaa?!" So, let me elaborate.

I'd use a Disney Visa card. If you haven't booked your trip yet, get a Disney Visa card and put your trip on it. One of the perks is financing that is offered on select Disney vacations. In addition, you'll accrue more points on Disney purchases. Then, prior to your trip, redeem your reward points and use your rewards redemption card while on vacation. You'll also get other onsite perks while at the parks, including the exclusive character meet and greet at Epcot, discounts on parks merchandise and discounted tours.

In the event you don't get a Disney Visa card, you'll be sitting pretty with either a Visa gift card or a Disney gift card. Rainforest Cafe accepts the Disney gift card (they also would accept your Key to the World card.) If I had to choose between the Visa gift card or Disney gift card, I'd go with the Disney gift card because you can run its balance all the way down to zero (and then pay the balance with another payment type.) It's not always that easy with a Visa gift card.
