Is it better to go to dw the end of May or early August. As far as crowds and weather are concerned?

Hi, Cory!  It's great to see you back here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  In my opinion, anytime is a wonderful time to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth.  However, I would be happy to help you find a vacation time frame that will be practically perfect in every way for your family.

If you are planning your vacation for this yEAR, Cory, please be aware that due to the temporary closures at the Walt Disney World Resort, reservations for May 2020 are not currently available to book.  At this time, reservations are available for travel dates June 1, 2020, and later.

If you are dreaming of a Walt Disney World Resort getaway for next yEAR, then we can certainly compare visiting at the end of May versus early August.  In my experience, the theme parks tend to be less crowded in May as opposed to the summer months because most children are still in school during May.  On average, the weather in May tends to be a little milder than in the summer months.  Florida still gets hot weather during May, but the temperatures tend to be a little lower than in August.  If you decide to visit during May, you might be able to catch the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.  Be sure to check the dates for this event, as it often runs through late May or early June.

If you happen to decide that the summer months would work best for your family, don't let the Florida heat deter you.  There are plenty of ways to stay cool during your magical vacation.  I recommend getting an early start to your day.  Crowds and temperatures are both at their lowest first thing in the morning.  Many attractions even take place indoors, so the fun doesn't have to stop when you want to beat the heat.  When you need to cool off, you can take advantage of the pool at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel or visit one of the resort's splash-tastic water parks.  As long as you drink plenty of water and take breaks as needed, I'm sure you will have a magical time in the Florida sunshine.
