Is it better to use Disney Gift Card or Disney Dollars?

    Hi there Elaine,

As a collector of Disney Dollars, the official currency of the Disney World Resort, I can tell you from experience that they're a fun way to pay for purchases at Disney!  They can be purchased dollar for dollar and can be redeemed for face value at pretty much any location at the Walt Disney World Resort.  They make great birthday gifts…easy to stick in cards… and fabulous stocking stuffers as well!

The Disney Gift Cards are a more convenient way to pay and they're great because you can load any increment onto them.  They're nice to have in the parks too, because one card can pay for everything… merchandise, dining, even gratuity!  I have one of those clear pouches attached to a lanyard that I wear in the parks and I can keep that one gift card conveniently tucked away to pay when needed.

You can also use you Magic Band or Key to the World Card to charge purchases back to your room.  When you check out of your resort, you can pay that balance with a Disney Gift Card too!

    Best Wishes,

    Amanda F.
