Hi Tracy! We have been going to
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party in the Magic Kingdom for many years now. It had been a tradition to go on Halloween night, however, last year we enjoyed the festivities on the 30th.
Halloween night is always the first night to be sold out so if you are considering this please get your tickets now and don't delay. The 30th won't be far behind in selling out too. After experiencing both dates I found that it was fun both nights and not much different. These parties are selling out most nights now so the crowds will likely be the same. There is always plenty of candy and fun to go around.
Most of the Disney resorts will not have extensive Halloween activities planned. The children's programs and the pool recreation staff might have some things in mind but they usually don't publish those until a month ahead. The one resort that goes all out for Halloween is the
Fort Wilderness Resort. Starting on the 30th they have many activities such as pumpkin carving contests, site decoration contests, and pet Halloween costume contests. The 31st is a big day as they will have a golf cart decoration contest and parade with over 100 vehicles all decked out in their finest "costumes". Guests line the roads to cheer on their favorite one. When the parade is over begins the trick or treating where kids and families can go from loop to loop stopping at RV's for treats.
The
Contemporary Resort is connected to Fort Wilderness by boat.
