Which is better for 8 adults and 1 kid of 5 years the destiny or the fantasy?

Hi there, Diana! Welcome back to planDisney!

I love discussing all the fun attributes on each ship that make it so unique! I also know the pressure of trying to get a group vacation planned just right. Therefore, I’d be happy to help you decide on a ship choice that will woww your group!

First, you can’t go wrong with any of the Disney Cruise Line ships. They all have special offerings, such as many of the same included amenities like Rotational Dining, entertainment such as Broadway-style shows, and Disney's Oceaneer Club for your 5-year-old guest. Since you’re deciding between the Disney Destiny and the Disney Fantasy, I’ll go into more detail about both ships.

The Disney Destiny is themed to heroes and villains, and features some pretty cool and unique Character Experiences on board! Here you’ll find many of the popular amenities of the Wish class, such as Donald’s Cantina (my favorite!) and AquaMouse, on a ship that reflects epic Disney storytelling, including the signature Broadway-style show Disney Hercules, which always brings happy tears! There's a uniquely Marvel theme throughout, with Spider-Man on the stern and T’Challa, the Black Panther: King of Wakanda, as the main statue in the Grand Hall.

The Disney Fantasy has more of an elegant cruise-ship vibe. This is the one I like to pretend I’m sailing across the Atlantic in, because it really feels like that, as it’s so beautiful! There’s a promenade deck on Deck 4, making for perfect sunset photos and morning coffee walks. I love the adult area, Europa, because it features five different adult-only lounges right next to each other. There are also Pixar Days at Sea cruises on the Disney Fantasy, which you might consider if you're big Pixar fans.

I suggest thinking about your group's interests for this vacation, so that you can choose the ship that can meet those interests on board.

Diana, I hope that I helped you make an informed decision. I wish you many magical memories ahead! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.
