Hi! I get that it's best to get to the park before opening to avoid lines, but on the day we have Chef Mickey breakfast we probably won't get to MK until 930am. What is the best approach if your arriving later? This is 1st trip-1 wk to go!

    Hi Jeanine,

One week exciting!  My kids make a "countdown calendar" starting about a month before our trips.  When we break the "one week barrier" the excitement is palpable!

As for how to navigate the Magic Kingdom after 9:30, here are a few tips.  First, 9:30 is actually still quite early, and you should be able to see and experience a lot of attractions.  I would suggest, that you make use of fast pass where ever possible.  Try to use your park map to your advantage, and go on as many attractions as you can in a given area while waiting for your "fast pass time."  For example, if you get passes to Peter Pan, hop on Small World (generally a very reasonable wait), Winnie the Pooh and the Carousel while you are waiting.  All of these are located in Fantasyland.  I'm assuming your breakfast will leave you stuffed (most people waddle out of Chef Mickey's!), so you can probably eat lunch at off-peak hours.  Many of the attractions have shorter waiting times during the standard lunch hours.

If you are interested in any of the "big three mountains" (Space, Big Thunder and Splash) be sure to get fast passes as early as possible.  When the park is crowded, these attractions sometimes "run out" of their allotted passes earlier in the day.

Again, remember that 9:30 is still early, and ensure that you take some time to enjoy a quieter moment or too as well.  A park bench and a Mickey ice cream bar does just the trick when my clan needs a break!

As the Little Einsteins would say...7,6, 5,4, 3,2, 1...blast off!
