    What's the best way to get from ft. Wilderness to Chef Mickeys?

    Hi Susan!

    Having spent many days in the Fort Wilderness Resort at Walt Disney World allows me to understand the transportation and other amenities offered at this great Walt Disney World resort. Because it is so large in size they have a wonderful internal bus system in place that can pick you up at any of the many stops and get you to either end of the resort in a timely way.

    If you are staying at the cabins you will want to get the internal bus and get off at the Marina end or Pioneer Hall end of the resort. From there you will take a short walk to the marina where you will look for the small boats which queue up on the right side of the dock. These boats will take you to the Contemporary Resort as well as the Wilderness Resort. They will begin operating at 6:45am so even if you have an early Chef Mickey reservation you will easily make it. The boat ride takes about 12 minutes and they run continuously into the late evening.

    These boats will not accommodate wheelchairs or electric scooters though so please be aware of that. If you have a stroller they will need to be folded for this ride just as the buses. Once you arrive at the Contemporary Resort you will have a walk to the resort and then up to the 4th floor where you will find the Chef Mickey restaurant.
