What’s the best way to get to magic kingdom for early entry on a run Disney marathon day?

Hey there, hi there, Carleen! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with such a great planning question. I love chatting Disney with my pals, pal!

Carleen, if you will be at Walt Disney World Resort during Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, that means that you'll be arriving at The Most Magical Place on Earth for your most magical adventure in just days! Eeeek! How exciting! As an early bird and big fan of rope-dropping (arriving at the park before park opening), Early Theme Park Entry for Disney Resort Hotel Guests is my favorite perk! That extra 30 minutes of magic really does make a difference when it comes to hitting your favorite attractions with the shortest wait times, and I'm thrilled to help you get to the magic.

To get to Magic Kingdom Park from a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, I always recommend taking advantage of the complimentary Disney transportation. I think you will be happy to hear that Disney transportation will be available to get you from your Disney Resort Hotel to Magic Kingdom Park in time for Early Entry on marathon day. I suggest taking the easiest mode of transportation from your Resort to Magic Kingdom, whether that be monorail, bus or boat. If you take the bus, just be aware that there may be more traffic than usual due to alternate routes for the marathon. So, I suggest you leave your Resort earlier than you normally would and give yourself at least an hour for travel before your Early Entry time.

A couple of years ago, I was staying at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort during marathon weekend. We found that the walking path from the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom was closed on marathon day, and we had to take the monorail. However, taking the monorail was a breeze! Our friends took the bus from another Resort, and while they did mention that there was some traffic on the roads, they arrived with plenty of time to meet us for rope drop. Let the magic begin!

I hope this was helpful, Carleen, and I hope you have an unforgettable upcoming vacation, full of fun, pixie dust and early entry to the parks! Please stop by any time with any planning questions you may have along the way.

    Blue skies and sunshine,

    Mandy
